Had a great experience at the store today as I watched a little boy "Rowan" tromp though our store today on his stick horse, sword in had and charging through the isles as mom finished her shopping. Do you remember the stick horse? I know they were much simpler in our day, no fur and maybe a tad bit more imagination. But Rowan named his "Blacky" Because it was black and white and he held his sward high above his head, little blond head bobbing up and down with each gallop, I could imagine the drama that was playing in his head as he rode to save the day. I too love my smart phone and love technology to some extent, however isn't great that kids can find the same imagination toys that we played with in the day, just as fun. A stick, a horse head and open space to play is all we need for an epic horse ride, sword drawn and nothing but the wind in our hair. Nothing to stop us except Mom saying it is time to come in, or in Rowan's case, Time to go. An adventure to be continued, on Rowans next visit as the traditional Horse Head riding stick is always in stock at your local family feed store.

I was recently reading an article while on vacation in regards to supplements and saw a interesting fact that involved one of the line of products that we carry at Eastern Sierra Feed. I know this years Derby had special meaning in The Carson Valley because of the local connections in the field.
The Article made reference to Dr.Gary Pusillo DVM, PH.D, a forensic Veterinarian and Animal Nutritionist, that accomplished a truly amazing statistic in this years Derby. Nine Horses in this years field were on Dr. Puillo's nutrition plan that included the following lines of products. Calm Balance EQ, Immediate Response and Pro-balance, and of the top five horses, three were on his program: Danza, Wicked Strong and Samraat. |
